Wireless hardness tester NOVOTEST Lab UCI Pro
NOVOTEST Lab UCI Pro is a next-generation portable hardness tester based on advanced Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) technology. The instrument delivers a new level of measurement accuracy, stability, and ease of use, setting a higher standard for UCI hardness testing in both laboratory and field applications.
The new technology and the updated probe design significantly reduce operator influence and ensure highly repeatable results, even when testing parts with complex geometries, thin-walled components, and surface-hardened layers.
FULLY FEATURED HARDNESS TESTER WITHOUT A SMARTPHONE
This unit is a fully standalone hardness tester with a built-in high-contrast display and intuitive control buttons. All core measurement functions, including hardness scales and material selection, are available directly on the instrument, while connecting to a smartphone provides access to advanced features such as calibration, extended settings, data analysis, reporting, and storage.
EASY OPERATION AND HIGH PORTABILITY
The device features an ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand. Its weight is approximately 160 g, and it can operate for up to 24 hours without recharging, making it one of the world’s most autonomous, fully featured UCI hardness testers.
MEASUREMENT OF PARTS IN ALMOST ANY SIZE AND SHAPE
The device enables hardness testing on almost any part, from large components to very small items weighing only a few grams, as well as thin sheets with a thickness of about 1 mm. It can also measure coatings and surface-hardened layers where traditional methods cannot be applied. The indenter penetration depth is only a few microns, so the surface is virtually not damaged.
WIDE RANGE OF SCALES AND MATERIALS
The device is factory calibrated for all primary hardness scales: HV, HRC, HRB, HRA, HB, HK, and MPa. It includes built-in conversion formulas in accordance with international standards ASTM E140 and ISO 18265 for materials such as steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel, aluminum, brass, and copper, all ready to use from the start. In addition, the operator can create custom materials.
MEASUREMENT IN HARD-TO-REACH AREAS
The device design allows the protective cap over the indenter to be removed, enabling hardness measurements in hard-to-reach areas such as narrow grooves, gear teeth, internal hole surfaces, and locations up to 20 mm inside the part.
EASY USER MATERIAL CALIBRATION
The device introduces a new approach to material calibration for portable hardness testing. In addition to a wide selection of factory preset materials, the device can be quickly adapted to a specific material either by using a single reference measurement or by simply entering a calibration value. This feature enables reliable hardness testing of non-standard alloys, heat-treated parts, and materials that fall outside conventional conversion tables, increasing the flexibility of portable UCI hardness testers.
CONNECTION TO THE NOVOTEST LAB APP
When the device is connected to a smartphone, full control of the instrument becomes available, including calibration and creation of new materials, measurement and function settings, graphs, statistics, archives, reports with photo, video, and audio notes, cloud synchronization, data export, firmware updates, and much more.
