Largest A-scan Screen in its Class
An important improvement of the Krautkrämer USM 36 is its large 7-inch screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The entire area is available to display razor-sharp A-scans, making it the best in its class. Signals can easily be seen and accurately interpreted, even in bright sunlight, with tired eyes at the end of a long working day.
Simple and Efficient Operation
The Krautkrämer USM 36 uses the familiar rotary knobs from earlier models, but the function keys have now been reduced to a simple, intuitive 6-key keypad that enables simple and efficient operation; set-up for inspection is also easy. This applies not only to technicians who have used the USM Go or USM Go+ for previous inspections, as setup data can be transferred directly from these instruments, which share the same user interface. This common user interface also ensures a short learning curve for technicians who are familiar with the USM Go instruments.
Flexible Data Reporting and Storage
In addition to easily interpreted, razor-sharp A-scans, data reporting on the Krautkrämer USM 36 can also include screenshots and A-scan videos, where A-scans can be recorded for subsequent analysis or as evidence of inspection. All data are stored on a removable SD card and reports can be in jpeg or BMP format.
Extensive Connectivity Options
Connectivity is an important feature of the Krautkrämer USM 36. Data can be stored on a removable SD card or USB memory stick, either for recording purposes or to allow data sharing. A VGA connection makes it possible to display the instrument screen on an external monitor or on a projector screen for training purposes.
Can Be Used in the Harshest Environments
The Krautkrämer USM 36 is fully protected against dust and water ingress to IP66 and can be operated at ambient temperatures from -10°C to +55°C. It can be used in sandy deserts, frozen wastelands and humid tropics. The new flaw detector weighs only 2.2 kg and can be operated from battery or mains power. Its Li-ion battery has an operating time of more than 13 hours, with an integrated battery charger for longer shifts.
Available in Three Versions
The versatile instrument is offered in three versions to meet the most commonly used inspection codes. The most advanced version can operate in DAC, AWS and DGS modes, has a powerful square wave pulser for excellent material penetration and can accommodate GE's patented trueDGS probe technology, which offers unrivalled accuracy in flaw sizing using the DGS method, as well as the patented Phantom Echo Detection technology.
