(excl. VAT)A measuring unit developed for heavy-duty use on construction sites to measure the thickness of all non-metallic layers in construction, such as bituminous mixtures (asphalt), blast furnace slag, concrete, etc.
The measuring process is non-destructive and approved by TP D-StB 12 (Technical Test Regulations for calculating surface thickness in road construction) for measuring individual and total thickness of layers in road construction.
Using the device in road construction typically involves placing aluminum foil at the bottom of an asphalt layer that has not yet been applied. The foil is embedded within the gravel mixture and does not interfere with the inter-layer bonding process. Decades of experience have shown that the foils do not affect the stability of the asphalt layers.
Unlike the core drilling method, this does not damage the construction layer.
The measuring reflectors can be located via a bar chart display on the measuring unit or acoustically using the included headphones.
